Eli (Hillel) Yarmovsky was born about 1866 (or about 1869 if the age in the 1901 Census is correct).  He was married to Sophie (shown as Zifaie in the 1901 Census, possibly being Tziviah) Silverman and emigrated to England by 1897. 

The 1901 Census for England shows Eli Yarmowski and his family (wife and 3 children plus two sisters) living at 12 Myrtle St. in the civil parish of Leeds (which is northeast of Manchester) in Yorkshire County.  Eli is shown employed as a tailors machinist, age 32, with wife Zifaie, age 31.  They have 2 sons and a daughter (all born in Leeds): Jacob, age 4, Leah, age 2, and Jacob P., age 6 months.  Also living with the family are Eli's sisters, Mary, age 23 and single, and Esther, age 21 and single.  Mary is employed as a tailors buttonholehand and Esther as a tailors machine hand.  All four adults are shown as foreign subjects born in Russia.

Eli's daughter Lillian emigrated to the U.S. in 1929.  The 1930 Federal Census shows her living on Fulton St. in Brooklyn with her uncle and aunt, Jack and Dora Donner.
