  • JewishGen
    • This wonderful site has a huge amount of information on Jewish genealogy including numerous searchable databases.  The Lithuania, Belarus, and Poland databases all show some Yarmovsky (or Jarmowska) listings.
  • The Jewish Genealogical Society (NY)
    • This great site has information not available at JewishGen such as Brooklyn naturalization indexes and extensive listings of Jewish organizations including New York area burial societies.
  • Searching the Ellis Island Database in One Step
    • This is easiest way to search the Ellis Island ship's passenger record database.  Most of the original ship manifests are on two pages and you will usually have to use the previous or next link at the Ellis Island Records' original ship manifest page to see the other page. Numerous immigrants (who may be related to the Yarmovsky family) are shown under the surnames Jarmowska and Jarmowski.
  • Avotaynu
    • The leading publisher of the Jewish genealogy products also has the Consolidated Jewish Surname Index on its site.
  • We Remember Jewish Bialystok!
  • Yarmovsky Family Tree (link no longer functional)
    • This site had an extensive family tree beginning with an Abraham Yarmovsky, son of Zissel. Although no specific connection is currently known with this family; it appears possible that Zissel may have originated from the area of Lida, Belarus. Since this is the same area that Shmuel David Yarmovsky's family came from, there may be a connection. (Note: A 1912 City of Lida voter list shows a Iosel Yarmovskiy, son of Ziselev.  There was also a Zisl Yarmovsky with wife Hinde in Vasilishki, which is located about 11 miles west of Porechany, Belarus.)  The Yarmovsky Family Tree site did not have a contact address shown; the author of this site (see the link at the bottom of the home page) would love to hear from the person who created that family tree.
